A plainclothes police officer from the Yorktown Police Department approached the van in the parking lot at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 1, when he said he saw Mahopac resident Robert McGuigan “acting in a suspicious manner.”
Officers approached the vehicle for further investigation, police said. An investigation was conducted, and it is alleged that McGuigan was in possession of crack cocaine, and he was arrested.
McGuigan was charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Aug. 16 to answer the charge.
